Oatmeal/Porridge ideas

Oatmeal is my favourite food. It’s also probably the most satisfying and healthy breakfast in the world. But, in case you find it a little boring, here are five quick and easy ideas to make the morning more exciting.

How many EA Tasty Spoons does it get?

  1. Screen Shot 2016-04-09 at 18.53.32 No animal products.
  2. Screen Shot 2016-04-09 at 18.53.32 As far as I’m aware, oats are not harmful to the environment. I’m not sure about almond milk, but it’s definitely got a much lower carbon footprint than dairy milk.
  3. Screen Shot 2016-04-09 at 18.53.32 Oats are very cheap, especially considering how nutritious they are. More on the pricey side is almond milk (£1 per litre in the UK), and frozen blueberries (£2 for 350g in the UK). Pretty good overall so deserves a spoon.
  4. Screen Shot 2016-04-09 at 18.53.32Definitely healthy. With a low glycemic index, oatmeal gives long lasting energy. Also, the soluble fibre in oats is supposed to be good for the heart. I always feel my best after a bowl of oatmeal.
  5. Screen Shot 2016-04-09 at 18.53.32I think it’s delicious. No breakfast makes me happier!
